Let's be real... If it's your first time in Nashville and have a "can do" attitude, you can always go downtown to Broadway! Chris and I prefer a "Day Broadway" situation and all of the rooftops as opposed to being there in the evening, but to each their own! Buckle up for lots of people watching, live music everywhere, and a good time for sure!
If you are looking for a little bit of a slower pace, boutique shopping, different restaurants, coffee shops, a little more central to Brentwood and Cool Springs... Go to Franklin! At this time of year, Franklin is completely a "Hallmark" town. It's absolutely beautiful and full of History as well. There are tours as well and you can even stop by O Be Joyful where Savannah has bartended for the past 4 years for the best Burger in Franklin and a well-made old fashioned!
Arrington Vineyards is a beautiful drive about 20-25 minutes from Brentwood or Franklin. You can bring a picnic or purchase snacks there, purchase a bottle of wine, and enjoy the beautiful hillside and stunning views! ESPECIALLY in October... going to be lovely.
If you are on your way into Downtown Franklin, you will pass the Factory! This is an amazing location for tons of different kinds of restaurants with a central bar in the middle! Chris' favorite restaurant in the Factory is Mojo's Tacos. You will also find everything from an amazing brunch spot called "Etch", great BBQ called "Edley's", Jeni's Ice cream, Ramen, etc.... There are also boutique shops for shopping!
J. Alexander's is located right in the middle of the Cool Springs area and just off the I-65 Freeway. The food and service are ALWAYS consistent. Seriously, their food is incredible and martinis on point. You can go here for an incredible sandwich and fries or have a really nice meal. A Peters Family Fave for years and years.
